1. Counting a major dance session in your apartment as a workout.
2. Still getting nervous before an important phone call.
3. Having breakfast for dinner.
4. Wanting to play in all this snow that's fallen over NYC. : )
5. Making the first move, regardless of the outcome.
And cheers to you guys, for following my little blog! Thank you! xo

Nude and turquoise (and a killer tan)... because it works.

"Hello Lover!"
Last weekend, my date asked me if I liked shoes. I wondered why. His response: "You're very girly, but I mean that in the best way."
Um, yes, I love shoes, and no, I'm not ashamed of that. Next question, bucko.
It's not like I was going to tell him that when a teaser photo of the "Eloise" shoe designed by Denise Richards for ShoeDazzle! arrived in my inbox, I made a note on my calendar: "Shoes!" Then, anxiously waited until they finally went on sale today. For $39.95, they are now merrily making their way through the mail and on to my feet. All profits are benefitting the Kidney Cancer Foundation -- so it's money well-spent for this smart and caring "girly" on a budget.

This is the third purchase I've made on ShoeDazzle! I signed up back in October to get these babies, and later bought a black and gold wrap-around watch (both of which I've received many compliments on). I'm usually wary of subscription-type sites--I opt out of buying something every month, which you have to do within the first 5 days of the month--but it's great for those occasional, one-of-a-kind pieces.
If you want to add Eloise to your own closet, click here. And the guys who will never understand the excitement of a new pair of heels? Well, at least they can watch you walk away...

Can you tell I kind of have an obsession with champagne, nude, light pink and anything that sparkles or flows? All these women had exquisite gowns that they wore to perfection. Hollywood glamour as it should be!

Simple, bold, clean, streamlined color. These were my favorite 4 dresses of the night.

Happy New Year!
I'm so happy to start a new year... well, we're already two weeks into it. And since, according to the Mayan calendar, this is the year the world ends, I plan to really make it count. On January 1st, I made 3 New Year resolutions: one for my head, one for my heart and one for my health.
1. Publish something (whether it be another print magazine article or start developing the book I've always wanted to write)
2. Be honest & open when it comes to what I want in a relationship (that's my work rubbing off on me!)
3. Work hard to tone everything up (which requires lots of working out and way less happy hours, late night pizza runs, etc.)
So far.... so good on two out of three! I've been working out hard, going out but not drinking, and accepting the dates I want and rejecting the ones I don't. I just need to get crackin' on the first resolution and keep the other two up so, if the world does happen to end in 2012, I'll go out at my finest. And here's hoping you will too.
What are your New Year's Resolutions, and how have you been doing with them? Let's motivate each other!
Happy New Year's Eve Eve everyone! Can't believe how fast the holiday season has whizzed by... Christmas felt like it lasted two minutes! But, I had a great time with my friends and family, and I hope you did too.
Spending another New Year's Eve in NYC (is there really any place better?), and my outfit will look pretty similar to the one above. Not every item is exactly what I own, but it's as close as possible. Although, I now own those amazing Vince Camuto wedges -- they were my favorite Christmas present (besides the blue LuLus handbag below) from my sister. Yes, Santa was really good to me this year!
What are you wearing and doing for New Year's Eve?

Nine to Five Structured Hanbag, $37, Lulus

Rhinestone bow flats, $79.95, Steve Madden

Chiffon Back Blazer in Blush, $68, Nasty Gal

State Pride Necklace (but for New York!), $48, Kris Nations

Karina Cutout Platform, $58, Nasty Gal
Update: I got the blue handbag and Steve Madden rhinestone flats! Thank you, thank you, thank you Santa : )
